CMaster always has either a CMaster menu in the System Menu Bar, or a C menu in text windows, or both. Use the Menu Bar Preferences to select which to show. These menus provide access to many CMaster features including its preference dialogs. CMaster Help and CMaster Tech Support menus can be found under the Balloon Help menu.
C and CMaster Menus
These menus include the About CMaster item, an Actions submenu with the same features provided in the window-based menu of the same name, a Key Functions submenu with the same features provided in the Keys Icon/Menu, Keyboard Equivalents and Print Keyboard Equivalents dialogs, a Preferences submenu, four Alias items, an Edit ‘vers’ Resource dialog, and Lock/Unlock File items (all covered in depth further on.)
Action Menu
This menu encompasses most of the features provided through the icon bar. Selecting this item without any modifiers provides an action equivalent to shift-clicking in the Icon bar. Otherwise key modifiers result in actions equivalent to their Icon bar equivalents (if a feature has no special action given the current modifier set, it defaults to its standard no-modifier feature.)
When pulled down, the Action menu items change depending on the current set of modifier keys. The default action appears if the current set has no special effect. Thus, by pressing on the menu with various combinations of modifiers, you can get a quick overview of the various actions any one feature provides.
Markers Menu
This menu provides the same information as provided in the Function Popup Icon feature.
Keys Menu
This menu provides the same information as provided in the Key Function Icon feature.
GoBack Menu
This menu provides the same information as provided in the GoBack Icon feature.
Files Menu
This menu provides the same information as either CMaster’s Include File feature or THINK’s menu feature (normally activated by option-clicking in a ‘.c’ file’s title bar.)
XTRN Menu
This menu provides the same information as provided in the Externals Icon feature.
Preference Menus
Access CMaster’s preference dialogs through either the CMaster menu, or the C menu. Use the Balloon help in the various dialogs for more information.
If you modify the order of the Action items in the Menu Bar, Icon Bar, or Keyboard Preferences, you can always return to the default list by first moving all entries to the left-hand list, then double-clicking the top-most entry from that list until the list empties.
